StreamBIM has introduced CRS (Coordinate Reference System) support. The purpose of this feature is to enable working with models positioned in global coordinates, allowing them to be viewed in context with other project data (such as orthophotos and maps).
When files are uploaded and processed in StreamBIM, users can go to the project settings to select the project’s CRS. The models will then display with the correct orientation and placement in map and satellite 2D views.
We read CRS from the IFC property IfcProjectedCRS. All models in a project should use the same CRS.
1. Open Settings
Users can access this feature in the project settings, where they select which coordinate system (CRS) to use for each building in the project. Once the CRS is set, all project elements will seamlessly align in the view.
In project settings, users search for the desired CRS. We pull CRS data from proj.org, which contains over 6,000 coordinate systems in its database. Therefore, it is essential to verify that the EPSG code matches what is being used in your project.
