In Revit, there are many possibilities when it comes to exporting Ifc and the information you want to participate in exports. When you choose to export an Ifc file, you can click on "modify setup" to get more choices.
Then you will get this window. Here you can adjust the information you want to include in the "Property Sets" tab.
1. By activating this, you will get Revit's default property sets.
2. By activating this, you will get some common IFC property sets that you can not make any major changes with.
3. By creating own schedules in Revit, the information in these can be exported as own property sets.
If you have created many schedules on a project in Revit, and wishes that only som of these will be exported as own property sets, you can also activate: "Export only schedules containing IFC, Pset, or Common in the title".
Then remember to name these schedules with "PSET" in front of what you really want it to be named.
In this example, only the number 3 has been activated by the IFC export. The schedules have been processed so that only the necessary information is contained in them.
The image below is from StreamBIM and by clicking on a pipe, you can easily find the information that has been sorted in the various Psets.
